iScorecast

Post by brian_oshea » Sat Aug 13, 2011 9:17 am

Last evening for the first time I tried to iScoreCast 2 games and it did not work. Prior to coming to the park I gave the parents the web address of the iSore site on the Admin website where I had preloaded the first 2 games.. I also logged in on my iPhone. When the game started it did not become live on the parents phones. . I then emailed two parents the link to the specific game and when they logged in this way it was live but I don't know if it stayed live. On my phone it would go for a few plays and then stop. If I exited and logged in again it was up to date but soon froze. I was receiving text messages during this time so it should not be the 3G (no wifi available). In fact if you receive this post it proves 3G was working

Any idea what be happening? I am at the park now and have 2 more games to score today. One is at 7pm EDST. Depending on the 7pm game I may have another to do tomorrow and would love to iScoreCast it.

The only reason the iScorecast would not work would have to do with internet connectivity. Sending a Text Message does not use your 3G connection. If you signal is intermittent, it is possible the iScore updates would not be going through. You can always go to the Game Info screen and do an iScorecast Syncrhonize to force all the events to be sent up to the iScorecast server again, but it should not be required if you have a good signal at the field.

Our next release actually adds "retry logic" to resend iScorecast data in the background automatically when there are failures because if internet connectivity. (does not help you tonight, but just letting people know that is coming).

Thanks. I thought it might have to do with Internet connectio. I have synced all 3 games I did.
