vs. TBA

Post by RockRocks787 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:04 pm

We were in several bracket tournaments this past season. Played two games a day in most tournaments. We would know who we were playing in our first game, but didn't know who we were playing in Game 2. It would be nice to be able to post that second game ahead of time and be able to switch to a different team once we know who we are playing.

post what ahead of time?

many of the users here play in similar tournament situations. ..if you describe more what you are trying to post ahead, may be able to give you some suggestions on how we handle similar situation.. I do not use iscore as my communication tool for scheduling.. remote viewers know the iscorecast menu link and team web site links. where as soon as game scoring starts they click and go..

Well we do use iScoreCast, but instead of entering the code to view all games, most parents prefer to click on the individual iScoreCast link for each game. Since we don't know who we are playing for an upcoming game, I cannot list that game until I know who our opponent is, and by then I'm making our lineup, puting in the opposing team's lineup, etc. so I don't have time to sit and wait for my device to export to the website in order to add the upcoming game.

thanks for the additional information..

you are correct, there is no way on the device for a game to "change out teams" once the game has been set up. .establishing the teams is a pretty main part of game et up.. I imagine making that editable could be a programing challenge. but perhaps FTM can think of something clever .

that said, one way around the code entry is to embed the id in the URL you give them so the end viewer does no have to enter the code .. this is probably the best thing to do now. send the parents a link to your iscorecast menu of games, syntax is http://iscorecast.com/?c=xxxxxxxxxx&replay=1 (where xxxxxxxxxx is your device ID)

Another more time consuming option is to use the misc > email link feature. You can type in multiple addresses or email your self or a friend and have them email from there to your broader email list (the idea of accessing your contacts from this email address prompt screen is on FTM list for consideration)
