I'm sure this topics has come up before. I have been using iScore for 2 years now and have never considered a team website. Is there a primer of how to develop a website, what it looks like, what info can be put on it, and what can be done with this info? Is there a sample site that I could visit so that I can see what it looks like?

Our season will be over by the end of August (it gets cool up here in Canada early ) so a team website is something to think about for next season. I just thought that if I could "bone" up on it now, that it would save time later.

Wow!! These websites are great but way beyond my ability. I assume that you must have the ability to design a web site in order to create the images that these site have. I assume that the data, game scores, statistics, etc. come from the iScore web casts, but do you have to design the pages or is a template provided by iScore with the subscription.

As I said the websites look great but I have less than zero ability to design a site that looks like these. If I have to do this, I think that I'll skip the team website.. Thanks anyway.

I doubt "beyond your ability" .. in fact i bet you can get the basic site up and running in less than five minutes. there are some fancy sites sure but the basic site is very functional and easy to set up (by design)..

the basic "template" is the thunder sticks example

You do nothing more than pay for the site and export your data and get exactly the thunder sticks site
(with your name and data of course). each time you export and email your scored game, the site is updated. (that is it).

Once you have a site, you can then start to change the look (or not)

Most start first with color, log in as administrator, there is a settings page, which lets you play around with color schemes. check box style, (no HTML coding).

if you want to go further on the front home page, you can edit with the provided WYSIWYG editor. (no coding either).

you an then go further and use HTML on the home page or other design tools like wix.com provided.

I'll take your word for it but with a very large degree of doubt. I'm just a 75 year old grandpa following my grandaughter's ball team who enjoys keeping score at her games in order to become more involved in the games and thus know what is going on. I don't even know if the coach would want these stats and game info available to everyone, although it appears the info can be password protected.

At any rate as I said previously, our season has only 3 league games and league playoffs left in the season ( we did not qualify for provincial playoffs), so it's all academic for this year. I'll visit this issue before next season, if my grandauter plays next year, so don't go anywhere, I'll likely need your help if I decide to go ahead.

Another option is the player website. If the team site is not something the coach would want or endorse, you could get a player website for your granddaughter. It tracks stats for a single player across multiple teams, leagues, years. I think it is only $10!

Will keep the player website in mind for next year. I went to the team website forum, which is where I should have gone in the first place, and found many threads concerning various items concerning team websites. I have printed off some of them for future reference when I set up the team website next year. I feel much more comfortable with doing this now.

If I turn IScoreCast on, with no team website, am I correct that all I need to do is email the following link: http://www.iscorecast.com/?c=xxxxxxxx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, where xxxxx is my customer I'd and whoever I email the link to can tune in to the iScoreCast?

@brian_oshea. I stand by prediction, no problem for you to set up a no frills site like thunder sticks.

you have demonstrated the ability to learn iscore and this forum.. i propose setting up the "standard" team site is easier than either of those. . setting a password to prevent others from seeing the stats is also very easy.

Yes, that is all you need to get folks to the iscorecast menu of your games. http://www.iscorecast.com/?c=xxxxxxxx where xxxxxxx is your device id, if you have a team site, then xxxxxx canbeyourteamname

Remember if option>iscorecast is on AND you are connected to the internet, the iscorecast will be posted automatically as you go. if you score at a field without internet, when you get back to internet, at the game manager> game info screen, scorll down to iscorecast synchronize to post the broadcast to the web.

you can also email game specific links from from misc menu in the main scoreing screen.

When you email the game link from the misc. Menu in the main scoring screen, does it show your customer ID? I also just noticed that when you send this email it does not allow you access to your contacts list so that you can get the email address from there. You have to remember it and type it in. Would be nice to have the contact link.

We have a game next Monday and I am going to try iScoreCast out prior to a provincial tournament the weekend of Aug. 12.

+1 for that feature. I think that's the only place you can't choose from your contacts, and it's impractical (for me at least) in the middle of the game to go to Contacts>Find my contact>Copy the address>Return to iScore>Paste into dialog from Misc. Menu.
