iPad 2, over heating vs iPad 1
iPad 2, over heating vs iPad 1
For those who have moved to an iPad 2, has the overheating issue improved, stayed the same or has it become worse? I'm considering upgrading and was curious.
Re: iPad 2, over heating vs iPad 1
I have had both the iPad and ipad2. I have not had overheating issues with either device, but have read all the posts here about overheating and am very vigilant about keeping it out of direct sunlight. Have scored 9 games in a day in the Ga heat with no problem. The ipad2 has a much better battery life.

I use the "Official Apple" case for my iPad 1 (the black one with the lip). I have had overheating issues; however, I've been able to more or less eliminate them by simply removing the iPad from the case. The black case soaks up way too much heat and keeps it in.
I'm looking for a better "baseball" case to use at the fields, but in the interim I am just *very* careful with a naked iPad.

ZAGG.com sells the Invisble Shield for iPad and iPad2.

These shields have saved both of my kids' phones, and the iPod I use with iScore. Can't tell you how many times I've dropped the iPod while scoring over the last 2 years.

I am not sure what to be more jealous of, the iPad2 or the 9 games in a day.. both sounds great. (i hope you won the tournament teammom)
that said, to the main point on the topic, the best solution to overheating is shade, no bones about it. and the invisible shield seems to be a crowd favorite

I have the Zagg product and it seems to work for me. Only time it overheated was when I left it in a case on a picnic table in the sun. Never again. The chair that I sit in has a cover that comes up over the chair so I'm always at least 75% in the shade.

I had the iPad overhead in June in Houston. In it's defense, I was in the direct heat and it was 100 degrees along with the Houston humidity.
