Re: Substitutions

Ok here is my question. I have been scoring games for about six months on my ipad and just faced this dilema. In dixie youth all stars the rule is that you bat all 12 players the first time and then after that you can only bat the first nine. I have been just skipping the last three batters and that seems to work except last night they substituted one of the bottom three in to bat for another player. I did not have the option to substitute the player because he was already in the line up (bottom 3). When I went in and changed his batting status as not batting, it removed his name from the scoring sheet. Does anyone know how to have all 12 bat first time and then just top 9 after that? Thanks

I think you have the right idea to bat all 12 the first time through and then skip the 10, 11 and 12 batters for the next trips through the order. However, it seems like you need to access the offensive substitution screens. My first guess would be to add a dummy player (name him Dummy or something obvious like that) and set his batting as No. That way, you would still have 12 batters in the lineup and a 13th player you won't really use that is not batting. This will give you access to the offensive sub screen. That way, when you need to sub one of the lower batting order players for one of the higher batting order players, you can move them around.

Petro's suggestion is correct... just create one extra player per team that starts with Batting=NO to turn on offensive substitutions.
