AutomaticaLoy walk a batter
AutomaticaLoy walk a batter
My son's team was playing in a 16U tournament last weekend when a coach selected to walk the batter coming to the plate. No pitches were involved, the player simply walked to first. Can you walk a batter and avoid adding 4 pitches to the pitcher's pitch count?

Re: AutomaticaLoy walk a batter
Our next release changes intentional walks to not count the pitches against the pitcher.

Thanks, looking forward to the enhancement.

Is this an option? Because in MLB I think those pitches count.

For MLB, enter the pitches as intentional balls, and it will still count. In MLB, the pitchers are required to throw the pitches (and occassionally mess up and allow a hit or throw one away). In high school, you can declare an intentional walk without throwing any pitches.
This is a very specific situation where scorekeepers are just tapping the Intentional Walk button without scoring each of the balls.
