Duplication of Players using Data Sharing from iPad to iPhon
Duplication of Players using Data Sharing from iPad to iPhon
I recently scored a couple of games on my new iPad, when I tried to data share with my iPhone - the two games show up in the data share list. The mapping looks good, I verify and import the games. But when I go to the team stats, I have duplicate players in the listings. Any ideas? Just to keep it clean I deleted the games from the iPhone and the stats look good again - how do I keep my iPad/iPhone in sync?

The first time you Data Share, you have the option to map players from one device to players on your local device. Once that mapping is in place, you will not have to do it in the future. If you did not "map" on your first import, then "new" teams/players would be created. You can use the "Merge Team" option from Game Manager to combine the teams back into one.

Yes - but I did the map, verify, etc. Then on subsequent shares, the verify shows "x team existing - n players existing", but I still get duplicate entries. When I've gone from the iPhone to iPad everything worked out well, but going the other way has caused problems. It does not show duplicate teams, just duplicate players on the same (my) team...same names, numbers, but separate entries.

You can use "Merge Player" from the Player Manager to combine players back into one in the same way you use "Merge Team" to combine teams into one.

Re: Duplication of Players using Data Sharing from iPad to iPhon
I just looked at that...merge players - but only a few of the players have duplicates in the Player Manager...but I have duplicates of all team members on the Team Roster.
What's up with that?
Team Roster: "#8 Lily", "#8 Lily"; "#22 Peyton", "#22 Peyton"...for every one of my players...duplicated.
Player Manager: "Lily", "Peyton"...only one entry (for nearly all the players).
I just started looking at the Team Roster - one of the duplicate players has stats, the other does not.
Looks like I might have to check every one, double check to ensure I'm deleting the right one, then delete them one at at time.
What a mess!

OK - crap.
Just deleted the duplicate players on the roster w/o stats - now the whole roster is gone after I recalculate...and the team stats are gone too.
This is really messed up.

You may want to check and make sure you have All checkedin League Manager. If players are showing on your Team Roster as duplicates, it means there are two copies of the players on your device. Making sure the All league is checked in League Manager will make sure you are seeing all your data.
One option since this happened with data sharing would be to delete the teams / games from your device that were copied from the second device, and do the data sharing again.
