'Play' crashes iScore on IPOD Touch

Post by cgrote » Wed May 04, 2011 6:05 pm

I just purchased iScore last night and wanted to try and learn how to use it. I entered each player on my son's team and then used the 'Quick Roster' for the opponent. I added the game, but when I go to Game Manager -> select the game -> Play - iScore crashes and returns to the IPOD app menu. I tried to power off the device, restart iScore, Game Manager, select game, and then hit 'play', but it still crashes.

Pertinent data: iScore version 3.16.162
IPOD Touch model MB528LL
Version 4.2.1 (8C148)
Capacity 6.8 GB
Available 1.3 GB

P.S. I e-mailed support@iscoresports.com with this issue last night and have not received a reply. What is the normal reply time from tech support?

We did not receive any emails at support@iscoresports.com from the email address associated with your cgrote account in this forum. We usually respond within a few hours to questions that don't require a lot of research.

If you can do an Options -> Export from within iScore, and email us with your customer ID (found on the Options screen in iScore), we can take a look at your data to see what may be causing the issue.

Without seeing the data, make sure you have at least one player set to batting = YES for each team. You can also try going to League Manager, and make sure there is a checkmark next to the "All" league.

Thanks for your response to my post. I have exported my data as requested. I did not have 'All' checked, but checking that did not fix the problem. Three leagues are present: 'All', 'Default', and our league (which I added). I have tried with all three checked as well as with just 'All' and our league checked. I have also sent an e-mail to support@iscoresports.com with my Customer ID.

@cgrote

welcome to the forum..

i suspect you will get a response from FTM in short order.. the app has been running fine on iPod touch, so they will be interested in discovering the source..

Did not see in your reply back, that in fact you verified a player does exist in both teams and at least one player on each team has batting set to yes .

as it sounds like you have a new install and as such not a lot of data .. an idea to consider. is a complete reinstall.. (hold to shake, x to delete, re download from itunes (if use same account as original purchase will be free).. may not want to go there yet, but food for thought...

Thanks for your reply. I did verify that I had indeed set players to 'Batting' but forgot to mention that in the post.

I did not know that one could easily download and re-install using the method you outlined. Thank you for mentioning that. At this point I think I will wait to get a response from FTM so this can be diagnosed before re-installing.

@cgrote - we are looking at your data and will get back to you via email. We do notice that one of the two teams did not have players when the game is created. We will let you know when we have figured out why it is crashing and not bringing up the lineup screen when pressing Play.

In the meantime, if you create a new game between the same two teams, things will work fine. We just tried on a device here and there are no issues.

Thank you for your suggestion. I added the team we are playing today with a 'Quick Roster', created the game, entered the game, and could then begin to keep score.

Let me know if you would like to pursue debugging the other team/game issues.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I am very impressed so far with the support of this program!
