Plays out of sequence

Post by promark747 » Sun Apr 24, 2011 6:41 am

Okay, I must be doing something wrong because I can't imagine there is a huge bug in the software.

On games I've recently scored, when I get home to view the scorecard and play by play, I get all kinds of plays out of order, and I need to undo everything and re-score (which is a giant pain). For example, here is a sample of a play by play:

#13 John Doe Ball, Ball, Foul, Ground out
#10 Mike Davis Strike (swinging), Single
#21 Steve Goode Ball
#10 Mike Davis Ball
#21 Steve Goode [#10 Mike Davis steals Second], Ball, Strike (looking), Ball, Hit by Pitch
#14 Adam Smith Strike (looking), Strikeout Looking

As you can see the actual sequence is mixed up between players during the inning. And the scorecard is similarly screwed up. I know I am not doing anything with the order of the players or making any substitutions during these sequences. What would cause this to happen? The only thing I can think of is that I may have tried to do an export or an iScorecast sync during the game and that messed it up?

Thanks

The play looks odd, but absent retracing your taps/steps or looking at your data, There is not enough information in the post to help untangle and indetify the source of the problem.

If you still have a specific game that is out of whack, you may want to export your data and send an email to support@iscoresports.com. And have them investigate, they can pull your game off the server and review in detail. Please provide your device id and identify the game in question .. Describe and help point out the area to investigate.. Also please include the device type (android/iPhone etc) and software version number

I have not seen this kind of garbled play by play before without user substitution errors, ( with user substitutions, it is plausible) ..that is not to say it could not be a bug, just not seen it posted on fourm to date. If after investigation, FTM identifis a systemic flaw, they will post back for all to learn/know...

Sorry not much help

We have seen plays wind up out of order on ocassion when a user is using a phone between two cell towers and the device keeps switching the clock to match the time of the two different cell towers. If you do an export and email us your customer ID and which game it is, we can fix this for your game.

The way to stop it from happening is to go to Settings on your device, select General, select Date & Time, and set the "Set Automatically" setting to OFF. This way your phone will not switch time automatically based on what the cell towers are sending it.
