Swapping teams

Post by BCBeast » Thu Apr 14, 2011 8:36 pm

Hi,
I know that you can swap teams from home to visitor prior to the game starting, is there a way to do this further in? I'm inputting a game from a paper book and I'm all the way to inning 6 and am so annoyed as I just realized I have the home and visitor teams switched. Wouldn't be a big deal except the game ends with the winning run being scored with 2 outs. I just unputted that run but now can't input what the other team did at their at bat since I'm backwards. Trying to avoid starting over, but I think I know I will have to...

There is not a way to switch home/visitor after the game has started. But you can add one inning to the scheduled innings so that you can enter the other team's at bat again, then use Misc->End Game to end the game. Will look a bit funny, but should get most of the stats correct.

I got burned by this one yesterday. I needed to switch home and visitor, but I had already hit Play. I had to scramble to re-create the game, got way behind, and ended up with a complete mess for the top of the first inning. I can understand why you don't offer the option to switch once the game is underway, because how would you map the data that's already entered, but I hadn't even entered a single pitch when I realized I had it wrong. It would be really nice if you would allow switching home and visitor even after hitting Play, as long as there is no data entered. In the meantime, I'll be extra careful not to make that mistake again, because it was costly.

spstsports, I'm pretty sure that in your situation, you can just hit "Undo" and then go to "Lineup" on the bottom right. From there, you should be able to hit the "Options" button and select "Swap Teams". I've had that happen before and it seems like I was able to fix it that way.
