Two devices wanting to scorecast

Post by Camerabry » Mon Apr 11, 2011 3:21 pm

I score cast with my iPad. Can someone with an android score cast to my account? We have a website where we have a link for score cast and would like to use the same account when I can't go to the game.

Customer IDs are linked to devices, so you can't use a single account.

The other device can cast but the link from that device would need to be sent to the viewers. You can data share the game the other device scores to get your website current.

I wonder why they do that? Seems reasonable that more than one person might want to have the ability to score for a team. It's just nice having the scoreboard embedded on our site.

I assume it is a safety feature that if the same game is scored by both devices that one does not overwrite the other.

I guess. But we aren't doing it at the same game. He would be subbing as scorekeeper on a different device.

You can use data sharing to transfer the teams between devices and both people can score games for the same team. The data from each device is stored under the customer ID of that device, so people would just need to know which device you are scoring from in order to watch the game.

http://www.protalentinstructs.com/12under.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is how we have it now. It will show games if I am there and score casting. But if I am not there and someone else is score casting, there is no easy way to make it automatically work?

That looks very cool. One option would be to have a link for each device. If you happen to know which devices will have which games, you could show the schedule on the appropriate links... like "Click here for these games: 4/6, 4/8, 4/10" and separately "Click here for these games: 4/9, 4/15, 4/17". It would almost be like a "channel" if you were thinking about when they are broadcast on TV. Not all games are shown on just one channel on TV.

Yeah. I think that's how we are going to end up doing it. We are also going to stream games live as well.
