Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Thanks for the response, a Few more questions..(and a couple FYIs, to clarify my asks)..
But I think i may have a line on the problem source...
How do you make the roster edits (names and numbers) while in game ?
throughout the game I enter the opponents' numbers and names (if I am quick enough to get them at their at bats),
Do you use 1) misc show starting line up? (tap player and edit the player information)
or 2) do you tap the bater icon? (and then tap the blue arrow by a player and edit his player card) and save)
Are you consistent and use the same method each time?
how do you make the subs in game
do you tap the field position icon (bring up defensive substitution screen), Tap position , tap player, tap position , tap player etc save. Or do you use misc > show starting line up and edit position there?
FYI -
Preset fielders
when you start a new game, you are prompted with the starting line up screen, bottom right is an Options button, with Preset Fielders option ( this a fairly new feature that lets you pre set who starts each position for each innning - if you know it in advance). Sounds like you don't use which is fine, (as it is a failry new feature and involves substitutions -- i wanted to rule it out as being part of the rot cause).
Bat 9 or Bat All
In your games, do all players bat or just nine? . ie MLB bats 9, many youth leagues bat everyone on the team. iscore handles both, and you define it when you set up your game line ups, you set players to bat yes/no. When you do a quick roster, you tell it how many players and how many bat. My guess is you bat 9 and have a bench of subs. But as it relates to substitutions i wanted to be clear. ( if you have everyone bating, then the offensive sub screen is not enabled, and we can rule it out as a source problem)

Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Answers to your questions:
roster edits (names and numbers) while in game:
-misc show starting line up(tap player and edit the player information)
how do you make the subs in game:
-tap the field position icon (bring up defensive substitution screen), Tap position , tap player, tap position , tap player etc save.
FYI -
Preset fielders--yes, I do recall seeing that, but no, I do not use that feature as I do not usually know the opposing players' positions ahead of time
Bat 9 or all:
I always select bat 9, although there have been a few instances where I had to added a 10th or 11th batter into the lineup as they came up to the plate...in which case I go back to the misc>starting lineup and add them there.
Thanks for your help in trying to dig to the root of the problem.

Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Finally able to replicate the issue.
@ dojoboy - thanks for the responses. ball will go back to FTM. they are great folks and if this helps them get the next step, they will do what they can as they can to correct for all.
@ FTM Support -
The root cause seems to be is in the editing of names/numbers in misc > show starting line up, after a substitution has been made. Program updates the iscorecasts screen with new name info but in the original starting line up positions, not the positions of the moment.
SImulation..
Here is one way I was able to replicate it...(after a whole lot of guessing, whew)
Set up a 'simple game' with bat 9 on both teams. All assigned a fielding position in starting line up, (Player 1 pitcher, player 2 catcher, player 3 first, etc. did for both teams). did not use pre positioning of fielders
(My iscorecast and game device scoring shows both names and numbers)
First inning - played a quick 3 up 3 down (Ks) for both teams.
top of second inning, (visitors in the field) I subbed everyone (shifted each over). (using tap icon, tap player, tap position, tap player etc) (over dramatic, i know but just rotated all a slot, pitcher to catcher, catcher to first etc., did not involve any bench players, right fielder now pitcher). all looks good on screen . play out the half inning just fine no issues (3 up 3 down all Ks works)
bottom of second inning (home in the field) . did a quick three up three down Ks.
top of Third inning, - visitors up, isocrecast screen shows the shifted fielders, great.
now edit a players name or number by misc > show starting line up DONE
the device screen updates and when iscoreast catches up the screen changes back to original line up, and the player you edited is in his original field position with edited name.
I repeated this in different ways, with various forms a=of exit and synch but this seems the easiest to recreate. ..
Hope this helps you guys get a handle on what changed
Regards
OhioTex
(PS. Editing the player name through the substitution screen, updates the player card and the device scoreig screen but not the ingame line up or the iscorecast. )

Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Wow, nice work OhioTex, I can't imagine the time invested in figuring that one out but glad you did so.
Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
Not exactly the same issue, maybe related?...but I had also previously noted (in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2960" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) that I was seeing problems with the positions disappearing on the iscorecast when substitutions were made. It seems to happen when the pitcher is involved, but haven't tested this theory at the level Ohio Tex would have

Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
One other issue, don't know if it's related or not: on LIVE iScorecasts, the team hit totals on the big scoreboard are wrong. When you replay the game afterwards, they're accurate. I'm scoring on my iPhone.

Re: Substitute players not accurate on scorecasts
We have tried to reproduce this and have not seen it. When we enter a hit, we see a hit on the scoreboard. Is there maybe a particular type of hit that you are entering that is not showing? Or some set of steps that causes the hit totals to be incorrect?
