I am an iPad user normally but decided to try the android version on my samsung galaxy s vibrant from t-mobile running 2.1-update 1 while attending a college game today to compare the experience. Even after rebooting, changing to airplane mode, turning off wireless and gps, and closing all additional apps, I found the new team and add player functions would take nearly a minute to complete when I would save. Doing this for each player while creating the roster took me over 20 minutes to enter player info (15 seconds typing) then 45+ seconds to save and be ready for the next player.
Game creation was equally as slow.
Fortunately, the actual scoring of the game was more bearable but would occasionally be one or two pitches behind after entering an out or a hit.
Overall, everything was much slower than my iPad 1.
Even data sharing from my existing teams and games took many minutes to complete after I selected import while connected over 3G service.
Any ideas, advice or suggestions?

Re: New player and team creation is very slow
We don't have a Galaxy S Vibrant that we can test with. Did that device come with OS 2.1 installed? Or did it come with an earlier OS, and then get updated to OS 2.1 (which is the minimum iScore supports)? Do you know how much memory the device has? Were other applications running in the background? Did you try powering off and powering back on to make sure background applications are not running (Android is much looser in what it allows to run in the background, and thus other programs could be using up memory).

Re: New player and team creation is very slow
It did come with 2.1 but I think it updated to "update 1" after that. 2.2 is available but I haven't taken the time yet...
Memory is 13.18 gb with 10.66 gb available. SD is 7.6 gb with 5.27 gb free. Application storage shows 1.32gb available.
I did power on and off as first resort, but no difference. Only apps showing in advanced task manager are email, gmail, iScore, task manager, alarms & clocks.
Still very laggy to slow on add player and quick roster within add team. For a new team, Quick roster create with number of players =12, number of batters=9, def first name = Player, def last name = letter...took 5:35 timed. it all looks right but that's pretty slow.
How can I help diagnose this?

Re: New player and team creation is very slow
We have done more research, and apparently the SD card on the Samsung is exceptionally slow. Here is one URL that talks about it:

It is possible the newer version of Android OS will address the issue, so you can try installing that.
Another possibility we found following the links from above:
If you are using JuiceDefender and/or SystemPanelLite (common apps that are supposed to help with battery life), turn it off --- it makes things slower
