Recording an advanced runner in score.?

Post by Rosborn » Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:31 pm

Runner on first base, batter hits to 3rd who commits an error so batter reaches first on an error when asked... The program then asks how the runner on first advanced to second, if I enter via an error, it ask by who, I then enter 3rd again, the other option when aked how the runner on first advance to second, I could put advanced by batter? Question, if I put down she advance to second via an error on third baseman does the program charge the third baseman with two error's? Ron

Iscore only gives one error in that case. worry not, iscore has covered that one many times..

When it is a continuous entry, iscore only gives one error to a person, even if you taped him twice. ..(two people can get an error on a continuous entry, if you want but not 2 for a player) If you need to give two errors to a person you would have to do two iscore plays..

Thank you, it appeared that waynin the box score but wasn't sure. So that would be the correct way of scoring this play as apposed to showing the runner on first advancing because of the batter, right? Or would it matter as far as the stats? I'm not aware of stats that give credit for advancing a running from one base to another with the exception of home and the RBI. Just may be easier to read the score book if ya saw the ABE5 showing the running and batter both advancing on that error. Thanks again. Ron

Scorekeepers judgement..how you score the subtleties on how runner got to first and second depends on what you saw and the conditions/situation ( not being there, not enough info to say)

Could be runner from first was going to get to second "because of batter" (fast runner, strong lead off)

Could be runner got to second as a "fielders choice"

could be runner got to second by error

just Depends on what you saw that day..
