Truncated play description

Post by Marco Rocci » Tue Mar 15, 2011 9:07 am

In the play by play list I have many plays with a description that does not fit. Is there any way to view this info (I like to check it to see if it matches what I was trying to score).

I am new to iOS, but it seems that this list control is also fairly OS standard, righ? The problem is some plays have a very short description, while others have a very long one... it seems one size doesn't fill all (plays).

In pitch by pitch ? We all have some long plays, if you tap the activity it expands does it ?

I've noticed that I can no longer select the play (iPad version)...pretty sure I used to be able to. Thats where you can make edits, right?

Mprusak, try touching the right side of the play, I have had better luck opening it there for edits.

have tried touching every part of it with no luck. There are little white arrows on the right side, but tapping them doesnt do it either.

So it works for you on ipad? latest version?

iPad
3.09.141

Hit pitch by pitch
Tap by arrow of play
Edit boxes show up
Touch edits, choices pop up

Works as expected.

ahh, was trying to do it from the scoring screen...forgot, you need to exit out to game info screen. duh.

Thanks for setting me straight!

I too was tapping all over the place to try to expand it somehow.

But the proposed solution doesn't feel right. The play description seems to be the most immediate feedback of how you just scored the play. Having to exit from the game just to check it... that's not a good solution. At least the last play inserted should be fully visible (IMHO).

The "suggested idea" to make the play by play screen on iPad "live" has been made before.. (in effect bypassing the need to exit to game info screen to launch pitch by pitch).

have no idea if technically feasible or anywhere near the top of the list as it only impacts the tablet screen devices. Obviously the reason for exit scoring screen is because on most devices play by play is not on the scoring screen.

With the play by play on the ipad as it is the only need to exit is to edit a mistake. I am not sure we edit during a game enough to justify the FTM time investment. JMO
