Line up questions

Post by Walsh » Mon Mar 14, 2011 7:25 am

Hello I'm new to iScore and have a question about lineups.
I record upcoming teams that our local team is playing in the near furure.
I can only get the the games 5 minutes before they start so most of the time I don't get anything any positions or number.

So I enter the players from Franklin as F1,F2,F3 etc . then when i see the number of the kid leading off (F1) i write down his real number on a sheet of paper and do that for each addtional player.

After the game I go into player manager and edit the F1 to the correct number and name if I have it and then correct all the F players that played. In my old system this would then automatically change the name and number in the games I just did and I wouldn't have to do anything else the rest of the year.

what is the best way to preload players and then change to their real number. Would I do that in game manger? Does game manager update player manager.
Thanx .

This is a common situation in youth ball..

I suggest you learn to use quick roster and edit on the fly

When you start a new game, (game manager, add (upper right button))
select new team in scroll wheel,
type in team name and
Select quick roster button (lower right )
select number of players, number of batters and choose text (default is player 1,2, but can do F 1, 2, 3 also). Then be sure to save (create button) upper right.
Select your team and any options you want then save (done) upper right

Now when scoring, you can tap a batter icon when they come to the plate, tap their name ( arrow) in pop up substitution screen and edit their name and number as you go. ( hit save upper right to retirn) . Can also tap the fielding position icons and do same. Basically score what you see as you go. Doing this will update the player manager and line up as you go.

You can check this ( or edit also) by misc show starting line up...

One further step to suggest if you get the names too. Although Player Manager is updated, Team Manager is not. From the lineup within the game choose Options and then Copy Lineup -> Roster. This will copy the changes you make to that team's lineup in that game to Team Manager. This will let you reuse all of that information.
