Stats

Post by Paulsilas » Fri Dec 10, 2010 6:17 pm

Is there a place that explains what all the stat abbreviations mean and how the stats are calculated? Any chance u may add capability for users to create their own calculated stat categories?

Here is a link to Wikipedia where baseball stats are described and it includes the abbreviations for them as well:
You can export the stats into CSV or Excel format, and add your own calculated fields in a spreadsheet.

Is there a particular stat we do not currently provide that is widely used?

one I can think of and it can be derived fron iscore stats is the strike % (strikes/total pitches) - it is one of the most telling stats for young pitchers.

When you email stats to yourself the stats show ball/strikes/total pitches. Although it is not in percentage form it serves the purpose of your request.
