IScore website stats question

Post by carew97 » Sun Nov 07, 2010 1:12 pm

I am new at this and have a question that I can't find on the forum.

I updated pitcher win/lose
Synchronized
exported
then on the team website I when to the tuneup tab
I updated the site

Now the problem:
I have a Mac laptop
I click on games tab
Under options both game box and play by play work as advertised
When I click visiting team and home team, it wants to download a .txt file that is all garbled.
Is this right? How can someone log onto the team site and look at the scorebook?

The Admin Website is not intended for anyone but the Administrator (owner of the device). You can email statistics to anyone else you want to view the stats. You can email as HTML, CSV, Excel, and the PDF scorecard. To email the Game stats, go to Game Manager on the device, select the game, then select Email on the Game Info screen and it will ask who you want to email to. You can enter multiple email addresses by putting spaces between them. To email cumulative team statistics, you would go to Team Manager, select the team, select Team Stats, then Email.

When you are clicking on the Home and Visiting team in teh Admin Website, that downloads a CSV file that is compatible with a system called MaxPreps that is used by many high schools.

welcome to the community

A couple other points..

1) FTM may correct me if i am of target here.. , but the tune up tab is not something you need to worry about unless you have pretty large databases (say a hundred games or so) and even then not very often.

2) If you want others to have "Web Portal like access" to your team, player and game stats, game play by play and score books etc, you would want to investigate purchasing the add on service called team web sites (20$) .. I have found the investment in the team site to be well worth the 20$/yr and use it far more than the admin site much more user friendly and robust information. Many parents and players value that more than the emails. .

3) the admin tab is as he said "just for you and a few behind the scenes admin tasks". the team site actually does more than the admin site but a couple things exclusive to the admin site are...exporting to Max Press (if you need that) , opponent hit charts, player notes and ability to computer keyboard enter teams and rosters and import into your handhold (if you find typing info on handheld hard)

hope this make sense, if not or further questions.. post back and others will chime in too

I will also put a plug in for the team website. Didn't have it last year, but added it this year. Big difference. The minute your export your game data, it's already there, fully selectable by your parents/coaches/players. The website starts out basic, but with a Mac and iWeb you can create a nice website (and a little help from the forum here!)
