problems with team site password

Post by team mom » Tue Oct 12, 2010 12:45 pm

Using iframe code, I incorporated the team game and players statistics pages into our team site which was already set up. The password login screen appears when you go to the stats page. The pages worked fine when I tested it from home and work. However, when others have tried it (coaches, parents etc.) it does not work. Since I have been made aware of this, the password at times does not work for me, but I can usually get it after a few attempts. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

The pop up box is showing up, correct...but when typing i. Password, not reconciling?

The typical answer is be sure admin and guest passwords are different. But as an experienced user, I think you already know that. The second is remind all case sensitive.. Also keep it simple avoid confusion (no o and 0 ... Or 1 and l)...

I have not had trouble with Ie 8 on pc or safari on Mac.

Tried all that. I'll try changing the password and see if that helps. Was wondering if anyone else with iframes has had the issue. My guest login is a combination of numbers and letters, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Changed the password and my tester still can not login. She has the same version of internet explorer that I do (ie8) so I am currently at a deadend. Again - it works for me using both the guest and the admin password...

I am wondering if they have some firewall or pop up blocker or some other 'security setting' causing issues.. That is why if they could try with another browser safari or firefox, then we could eliminate the browser as the issue..

my brother just tried it with firefox and had no problem. Switched to internet explorer and could not login. there is no error message, it just goes back to the blank login screen like nothing was entered. Might be a security issue, but there was no message about a popup or security warning - just a reset of the login page. ???

So same machine, worked w firefox but not w ie8..... that narrows it down'
some setting in ie8 is causing a problem. ( works fine. For me )
. Could try the compatibility mode. Or the security settings in Internet options..

I am not sure how this will help me. If it is an internet explorer issue, I would need to know what the setting should be, otherwise I don' know how to tell people who can't access the site how to fix it.
