Viewing pitch-by-pitch (Location and Pitch Type Per at bat

Post by boconor » Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:26 pm

Is there a way to view the pitch-by-pitch location and pitch type during the game and per each at bat. I'd like to know pitch sequence and location for each previous at bat during the game. I know that it shows location and it show the overall pitch type and location but, I don't see per at bat pitch type. I hope that's clear?

Welcome to the board. Pitch type/sequence per at bat is on FTM's to do list for future enhancement. Some time ago there was a lively thread regarding this request which lead to the enhancement request and/or perhaps a pitcher only version of iScore.

dan is correct, but would add to the orignal poster question...

on the ipad, you have the upper right section that is showing you the pitch by pitch, and you can scroll through it . it does give you the location if you assigned it and by scrolling you get the sequence today. eg pitch one fast ball high, pitch two wide, three low etc.

note this is ipad centric, b/c in the iphone/itouch version you do not have the same pitch by pitch display real time while scoring, and the pitch editor does not show it. .

Last weekend the pitch by pitch section on my ipad "leaked" out of its box and scrolled all the way to the bottom of the ipad, going right over the pitch location section (making it unreadable due to jumbling of both sections. I was still able to score the games but was worried this was a sign of imminent overheating. It was a hot, muggy day, but I was in the shade. I got through the two games fine, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what it might mean - bug in the program or problem with the ipad?

Thanks.

We believe we have this fixed for the next release. It is a very intermittent thing that nobody has been able to reproduce consistently, but we changed the way a couple interface screens are displayed for the next release (visually they are the same, but the code for presenting them has changed), and have not seen the issue in our testing since that change.

In the meantime, if that happens, you can exit out of iScore and go right back in to continue scoring, and the issue should go away. Another thing you can do is slide the switch on the side of the device that prevents rotations of the screen as this seems to be what is causing the issue.

Thank you.

In my experience it is in no way a sign of pending failure. have scored many games with it jumble and unjumbled... do agree 'locking rotation' on ipad helps reduce. and an exit out of app and back in although a bit annoying solves it every time.
