Newbie Issues

Post by brad.hann » Fri Sep 05, 2014 5:25 am

Hello I am hoping someone can help me. We are playing fallball and I am testing the waters with the AP to see if we want to use it moving forward in to the new season. I had all the kids on our team batting. When our 9th player batted it had our leadoff batter hit instead of our #10 guy even though I had them hitting in the 10th spot. Does the Ap support continous batting?

Also, I changed positions during the game to include new pitching, however it did not keep seperate pitching stats for our 3 pitchers. It lumped all stats on our last pitcher.

Any help with this would be appreciated

iScore will allow you to have any number of batters in your lineup. Just setting Batting = YES for each player that will be batting.

"Lumped together" stats means you actually changed the Starting Lineup instead of performing substitutions for the pitchers. See this link in the iScore FAQ:

You can correct the pitching substitutions post game by setting the correct starting pitcher, then adding the substitutions at the appropriate spots in the game by following the instructions here:

That makes perfect sense on the pitching thanks!

For the batting, I had them all marked as batting yes.

I will keep playing around with the ap and get it figured out. I appreciate the help

If you had 10 player marked with Batting = YES, then it would bring all 10 players to bat before going back tot he first batter.

If you had 9 players marked batting = YES, and it wrapped back to the first, and you then edited the starting lineup to set the 10th player to Batting = YES, it is too late... the 10th batter will not be brought up until the next time through the lineup. If you don't realize you had 9 batters until it wrapped back to the first, you can use Undo, edit the 10th player to Batting = YES, and then re-enter the last pitch and the 10th batter will be up. Or you can use Misc -> Adjust Score and set the current batter to the 10th player in the lineup.

This all makes sense. I actually edited using the starting lineup instead of substituion. I appreciate the help. Will re-try all this Sunday for our next game.

Question, so when I change subsitutions for the field, this will not put someone as "out" but have them keep batting correct?

Correct, defensive and offensive substitutions are separate. That allows you to enter independently (helpful for those who "scores it as they see it" without actually getting sub updates from the field.) Also helpful for younger ages which allow you to bat more than 9. When players get older, I find it better to enter offensive and defensive subs at the same time.
