Same player on different teams - to merge or not to merge?

So my son's team played a travel team a few weeks back in a tourney. Yesterday, they played an official league all star team that was essentially the same as that travel team. It appears the kids wore different numbers on each team.

The question I have is, should I merge these players from the two teams into one or not? Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

We would suggest merging any duplicate players that you know are the same person. That way you get historical stats for that player any time you face the player again.
