Scoring...

Post by KevTN » Mon Mar 04, 2013 5:29 pm

Had two things that came up this weekend that I wasn't sure how to correctly put into iscore for the proper scoring sequence.

1. Runners on first and second. Passed ball by catcher so both runner advance successfully. Ball had bounced off catchers glove and went into dugout. Umpire ruled that both runners advance to the next base. Home and third due to the ball entering said dugout. How would you score that? I put it in as a misc ruling.

2. I struggled with this last year too (getting the sequence in the correct order). Runner on second. Sharp ground ball hit to short stop. SS tags runner that was on second then throws to first and gets the batter out. I usually score it as a FC tagging then force out.

Thanks for your help

1. First base advanced is Pass Ball. Advance each runner one base. Then tap lead runner, and safe at next base with "Out of Play" as the reason. Doesn't really change the stats any in your case (unless you did not enter the pass ball), but that would likely be the right way to score.

2. Out, Ground Out, touch location, Next, SS-1B, Done, Out Second (or Third), Double Play.

Thx so it does not matter the order in which the outs occur?

For double plays, that is the order they need to be entered since we ask about the batter first.
