Website Suggestions

Post by mwhittington » Mon Dec 31, 2012 11:41 am

This isn't really a support question but really more asking for suggestions. I've had a website for our team for a few years and our parents and kids really love it. This year we are changing our colors, logo, etc. I've seen some really cool websites in the gallery but I've always had ours pretty bland. I just set it up again this year - http://iscorebaseball.com/rebelsbaseball2013" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any suggestions on what I can do to spice it up some? Our colors are carolina blue, red, and white and I've add our logo to the top left but I need something cool before I present to our parents next week. Thanks for any suggestions.

The 'beauty' of the iscore team site (as you know) is it is simple to set up and maintain.

If you want fancier sites, you can create your own custom site using what ever web hosting and development tools you like. And then embed the iscore content pages inside your site easily.

that said, Many users on this forum use wix.com to build a fancier yet free web site and embed the pages of iscore into their new site. Many say the wix build is not hard to learn, though I have not done it myself. I originally had my own custom site but found the maintenance time outweighed the usefulness and I stick with the simple iscore site year to year.

(fyi wix.com now has html5 Tools, that you can use (instead of flash) so will be fully visible in iPad/iPhone).

I'll second the Wix recommendation. I use Wix for all the team websites in our organization.

Wix has a few quirks and short-comings, but for the most part is pretty easy to use. In fact a search for "wix" on this forum should bring up quite a few results that may help you along.

Mark - thanks very much. Very cool website you have. I'm going to study up on Wix and might be picking your brain.

Thanks,

OT - Thanks for noticing...The Reds have had some very good teams and players. However, I have not been involved in those successes in any way (not even my websites :lol:). My son is still in the lower levels (11U) of the organization. I enjoy watching him improve each year. I believe we are lucky to have some great coaches in the organization.

no it is pretty easy to use without one
