Data loss (overheat?)

Post by KnightsBaseball » Sun Jul 08, 2012 10:36 am

We were around the 6th inning in 100+ degrees and the iScore app quit. I didn't see the iPad overheat warning. The iPad went back to the home screen and I was able to start the iScore app immediately after. It appears to have erased all of the data. When I tried to click Game Manager to go back into our current game the message comes up and says "Because no leagues are selected in League Manager....". Under League Manager there are no leagues. It appears that the league and all associated data is gone.

I tried logging into iscorecentral.com, but I don't have my login. It says to retrieve in the app, but that comes up and asks to create an admin web site, which I've already done in the past. I read another post about the Data Sharing option, but that asks for a login that I don't have either. I'll email support for the login info, but just wanted to see if this is similar to the iPad overheating issue or something else. I thought it was weird the the iPad was still functioning, but the app quit. The data loss also sounds worse than some other cases.

I was also wondering how often the app syncs. Does a completed game sync to the web servers on wifi when opening the app a day later? I don't do a manual sync often, should I be? We have a Friday night game that I'm hoping stats are sync'd for. I took a pic of the other teams book so I'm not too worried about today's stats.

Thanks for the support, and awesome app of course!

FYI to those interested.. I was able to export the data to the web servers. Customer Support repaired the database and I was able to import it back into the iPad. Data was restored back to the inning that it shut down.

Many thanks to Customer Service for the immediate response on a weekend!
