Changing an out to a single, thrown out at second?

Post by sickdawgs » Tue May 22, 2012 2:51 pm

We had a play listed as an out by my scorekeeper, but it should have been a single because the runner was tagged out at second trying to stretch a single to a double. When I go play by play and try to edit, only the out is selectable and the safe isn't an option. Is there a way to change this?

There is not a way to edit a player that is "Safe" into an "Out", but you an correct your situation by adding a note to the play saying it was actually a hit (so anyone reading Pitch by Pitch will know), and then go to the statistics for the game, and override the 1B column for that player. Here is a link that describes how to make the post game edits:

The best way I figured out around this is to use 2 operations to complete the play. The first is a single. Then touch the runner at first and indicate he was "tagged out" at second. You'll be prompted to score the play (such as 9-4 or 7-6, etc). In Pitch By Pitch/Edit Game, I add a note, such as: "stretch attempt denied" or "tagged out attempting extra base." That way (I believe) no actual statistical changes would need to be made post-game

The issue here was that the scorekeeper made an error in how they scored the play and the OP was looking for a way to edit. To your point, this can actually be scored in a single event. To do so, make sure you have "Minimize Questions" set to NO in the game settings.
