Issue with Held Up button

Post by mpettitt » Tue Sep 01, 2009 4:54 pm

The following sequence of actions:

- "In Play"
- "Single"
- enter the hit location somewhere
- "Held Up"

After this sequence, sometimes there is no runner at first base as their should. Looking at the scoresheet, the runner is there, but not on the diamond view.

If you do it again, the UI still doesn't do anything to make you feel it knows anything about the runner that should be on first. (It doesn't ask where that runner ended up).

But, now, if you go to the scoresheet, there are two batters in a row-- both showing at first base with a single.

I can't seem to get it to happen on demand but once it happens doing an undo it will happen again.

As a workaround, I just use the "Advanced by Batter" instead. No issues here.

We just tried this several times, and it is not causing an issue. The player always appears at first as expected.

One thing to check... in your lineup, do you have any places where you are interleaving players with Batter=Yes and Batter=No? We did find a problem that can be caused if any Batter=No players are in the lineup with Batter=Yes coming later in the lineup. This has been fixed for Version 2.02. We will be releasing this update shortly.

If anyone can give additional steps to make this issue occur consistently, please let us know.

One additional thing to check is to make sure you are not having memory issues when you go into iScore. Please read the information at this URL:

http://iscore.fasterthanmonkeys.com/faq.jsp#memory

It describes how odd issues can be caused by low memory conditions, and how to avoid those conditions.

Thank you.

Yes, I can understand trying to find a problem when it's not consistant.

I didn't have any mixture of in/out lineup for different players. I was just trying to get acclimated to the application before trying to use it live at a softball game. The first time it happened I shook my head... "that was wierd, what did I do?" Then the second time (20-30 minutes later) I looked at the scoresheet and it was in the scoresheet but not on the diamond UI. That's when I tried to do it again, and got the runner at first this time but, the scoresheet now showed TWO runners at first. All subsequence attempts to get it to happen (on demand) have been unsucessful.

Thanks for trying. I'll add more information if it happens again.
