Bluetooth transmission of lineups
It would be good to have the ability to send/receive specific team rosters via bluetooth. This way, teams could have their predetermined lineup ready to go, and then simply 'swap' lineups with other iScore users (i.e. opposing teams).
Its my understanding that the current bluetooth functionality will swap everything. This functionality is fine - if I'm backing up everything from my iPad to, say, my iPhone. But its not practical to receive all of the history and info from an opposing team - its just unnecessary information.
Additionally, sending/receiving such information should, in theory, only take seconds due to the minimal amount of information being sent/received - where as the current functionality requires several minutes.

You can choose what data to import via bluetooth data sharing, so if you only want a specific roster, you can do that.

Agree with TeamChamp...would be so nice to be able to quickly swap rosters/line-ups with the other team before a game and skip the hassle of selecting what data to import/export -- not to mention the issue of sharing my password with strangers and then trusting they will only take what I want them to have, it is not ideal. And I have thought of changing my password back and forth but that is a big hassle too. Pre-game time is busy enough, especially in bracket play when you only have 15 minutes to add a new game and opponent.
Re: Bluetooth transmission of lineups
Not disagreeing. I think there is opportunity for a simplified swap of team data. Was just pointing out that it wasnt required to take someone's entire database.

Re: Bluetooth transmission of lineups
Not clear here on what is being requested here... you can already use Bluetooth data sharing to get another teams roster prior to game time. It is only supported on iOS devices right now, but any two iOS devices can use Bluetooth to share a Team (which would transfer the roster as well).

Re: Bluetooth transmission of lineups
I think the request is for a more secure method of sharing. Not having to provide your password and not having to trust the receiving side to only take the information you want them to have. And, if there was a simpler way to this, I think it would be welcome.
Something like:
With another device in range, I go to my team manager and hit a button to send to [select from devices in range]. They get a confirm option on their end. They then do the same with their roster.
So, its more like a push than a pull, I guess.

Re: Bluetooth transmission of lineups
I'm pulling from memory here (don't have my iPad available to run a data share). I was thinking when you run a data share on bluetooth - you were sharing everything. If you can choose to share only a roster of a given team - then you can disregard my request.

Re: Bluetooth transmission of lineups
There is no password involved in Blue Tooth data sharing. It requires both sides to allow the transfer, and bluetooth has a very small range (you will basically be standing next to the person you are sharing with), so they should not be able to share things that you would not be standing there watching them share.
The web based data sharing is different since you supply a password and people could be anywhere in the world (so you would not be watching what data they are transferring). We will likely be adding more data sharing capability / controls in the future.
