Preset rosters transferring current data
Preset rosters transferring current data
I have preset rosters and schedules in place however its not recognizing current data. My issue and an example of what I'm talking about. 1- I create a team, the league it belongs in, and create the roster to the team with NAMES ONLY because that's what the coaches initially exchanged. 2- Then I created my preset schedule of games. 3- Then I received the uniform #'s of the players on most teams (this was because uniforms weren't given out prior to rosters being disseminated). After updating the rosters, exported current data and then imported it doesn't bring that data to the current scheduled game. So on game day I'm scrambling to enter uniform numbers into the preset lineups and games. Any fix coming?

Re: Preset rosters transferring current data
When you say exported current data and then imported, what are you referring to? If you are using Options -> Export and Options -> Import, you should not lose preset rosters. If you are referring to using Data Sharing to transfer the games to another device, we do not currently transfer preset rosters and do not plan to transfer preset rosters. The preset rosters should be done on the device that will be scoring the game, and once a game is scored, they do not serve a purpose, so transferring that data on a game that has been scored does not make sense.

Re: Preset rosters transferring current data
referring to preset rosters, I understand that...It won't transfer preset rosters. I have a few problems (issues) that I may have also mentioned in a different thread. For instance, I played a doubleheader today. I scored it on my iPad, finalized it (game ending), then exported my data and then imported it again. Now I go to my iPhone and try to import my database from my iPad and I'm not getting the results. The preset schedule for the season is (was at a previous point) on the phone from a previous sync, however I haven't been able to sync my last 4 games. It's not in the menu of games to sync. That is issue 1.
Issue 2: I have a preset rosters and schedules on my iPad, however this was entered prior to uniforms being distributed so the players are listed with no jersey numbers. After the uniforms were distributed I then updated all the rosters from the team manager tab. Then when I go to my game manager and go to my lineups to move players around prior to the game starting there is no jersey numbers listed. I then have to re-enter the jersey numbers for each time I play the same team. The updated player card is not transferring the jersey number to the game manager side. I hope I was able to state my issues clearly. Sometimes I tend to confuse myself.

Re: Preset rosters transferring current data
On issue 1 it sounds like you are confusing import -export with data sharing. You can export from one device and import into another. Each device is a unique customer ID. As stated above by FTM, you cannot data share the same games more than once. When the the device you are data sharing to sees the game already on the device it ignores it.
On issue 2 you are confusing rosters with lineups. The two do not "talk to each other". When you create a game, you are taking a snapshot of your roster and creating a lineup. After that, any changes to one does affect the other and vice-versa. For this reason, it is recommended that games are created just prior to start of game and not in advance.
