Infield blooper

Post by Danger » Wed Mar 07, 2012 10:01 am

Just curious as to how the majority of you score this:

A batter hits a little blooper over the pitcher's head. It lands on the dirt. Second baseman picks it up and throws out the runner.

Obviously the out is 4-3. But, do you guys mark it as "Ground Ball" or a "Pop Up"?

I score it as a 4-3 ground out.

I chart it as a soft popup.

Ok, cool. That's what I've been doing but I wasn't sure if that was the standard way everyone else did it.

Thanks for your input!
