Fix game record to skip batter

Post by PhilB » Mon Feb 27, 2012 8:23 am

In a game this weekend we skipped a batter in the 4th inning (he'd previously batted in the 2nd inning) however I forgot to make the change in iscore. Now after the game that batter gets credit for reaching base on an error when in reality it was the next batter who reached. I cannot seem to fix the issue in the Pitch by Pitch section of the Game Record. Is there any way to correct this oversight on my part so that stats are calculated and the scorebook are correct?

Thanks,

You can do it one of two ways... assuming you skipped the next batter to catch things back up, you could go to Game Manager, select the Game, select Pitch by Pitch, and scroll to that play, tap it, and do a substitution on each of those two entries (the Reach on Error and the Skip Batter) and exchange the two batters, then exchange them back with substitutions after the end of that inning.

The other way would be to go to Game Manager, select the game, select Batting Stats for the team, and tap the statistics directly to override them to adjust each of the two players directly. You can then go to the Pitch by Pitch and add notes to the play saying the stats were adjusted directly.

How do I make an offensive substitution in Pitch by Pitch? I tried selecting Pitch by Pitch -> select the play in the 4th -> Edit Substitution -> Visitor -> Offense but that appears to want to make a wholesale change to the lineup, not a strategic single inning player swap.

Anyhow I don't think your suggestion will do what I want. I forgot to enter the skiped batter (Will) in iScore during the 4th inning, so he gets credit for the ROE. In reality Will was skipped and the next player in the lineup (Nick) reached on error. After Nick we returned to the top of the order (Noah).

Currently the scorebook reads the following incorrect batting sequence: Max (walked), Will (ROE), Nick (Walked), Noah (Walked), Tyler (ground out to end inning)

But this is the correct sequence that I am trying to achieve: Max (walked), Nick (ROE), Noah (Walked), Tyler (Walked), Blake (ground out to end inning)

Yeah, that is a lot of batters scored incorrectly. You might be best off Opening the Scorecard and a Play by Play of the game online (both can be done from the Admin Website), then in iScore, Undo back to that point in the game, and rescore from that point forward with the correct plays.

Good idea. I hadn't thought about using Undo. Good news for me is that this was the last inning of the game so I don't have too much to redo.

Thanks.
