Ran into an issue last night with scoring a game. When I started, I was pressed for time, so I only started with a partial line-up with a few assigned batters for the visiting team. I figured that when the players came up to bat, I would be able to make the adjustments to the batting order of the players, and add in additional players to fill the 9 man line-up. My problem occured when I touched the batter to bring up the secondary "line-up" window. Normally, it would appear with a batting order across the top of the window, with the pick list of players that scrolls below it. It would also have the buttons to choose between offence and defence at the very top of the window. The defence schematic of the field with the player positions and players assigned to those positions was all that displayed. There was no ability to choose between offence or defence visible either.
The strange thing is it only did it for the visiting team. All normal functionality worked for the home team.
Is this a bug, or did I do something in my haste starting the game to cause the error?

Re: Batter Substitution Issue
Understand perfectly. you had all the players on the opponent team set to bat =yes.
When batting all, iscore assumes you have a set batting order start to finish . What you needed to do was add a bench player in the starting line up (bat = no = bench player) (misc > show starting line up). in Starting line up you can adjust the line up order ( I assume they did not change order inning to inning). Which is different the sub ing in/out players.
If they have a bench and are making substitutions, you need to have a bench player in your starting line up to sub in (bat =no). if you have bench players, then when in game scoring when you tap on the batter and bring up the substitution screen, you have some one to sub in. When you don't have bench players, offensive sub screen is disabled.
In sum
no bench player, (all bat =yes) then no sub screen.
With Bench players, (bat = no) then offensive sub screen enabled

Re: Batter Substitution Issue
You are absolutely correct, all players were listed as batting. However, I got there in a round about way. I was able to get 9 of the teams roster in the system before game time. All were listed as batters. In order to fill in the roster quickly, I added 9 more players using the quick roster function. Alas, the quick roster function makes the first nine players it generates batters, even though there were already 9 batters listed on the team.
I don't know if anyone else has ever used the "quick roster" function the same way I did. It would be nice if the system checked to see if there were any batters already listed before making the next 9 from the quick roster batters. Any chance of putting a fix in so this doesn't happen again, for me or anyone else?
Ok, disregard my last... The quick roster functionality already includes the ability to say how many of the players are batters.
Thanks for your help and quick response!

Re: Batter Substitution Issue
Not the normal use of quick rosters but not that far off either..
If you had different values in quick roster screen for
number of players = eg. 12
number of batters = eg. 9
you would have been ok..
Quick Roster adds in the number of players specified ( eg 12) and sets bat equals = yes for the 1 to number of batters.( eg 1-9) . So if you had 12 and 9 in the boxes, it would have added 9 batters set bat= yes followed by 3 batters with bat = no. and you would have had a bench..
Quick roster remembers the last value used, so if you did 12 and 9 that will be the default next time you use quick roster..
Although may not be as failsafe or as intuitive as you envisioned.. Quick roster does already have the option you describe.
