New to iscore

Post by dwbarg » Tue Mar 22, 2011 5:28 am

Being new to iscore I want to know how people handle going to games and inputting opposing rosters when you don't know what they are until game time? Is there anyway around this? Thanks

Usually, I create the team and use the quick roster,
I try to then at least get numbers in first.

Then you can edit the roster between innings as well.

I agree Quick roster is the way to go. It is an option when you create a team. You can create the team ahead of time and just edit starting lineup during breaks in the game (between innings is a good time.)

Depending on where you play, you may be able to get creative and find team rosters ahead of time. Many tournament directors will post team rosters on their site. I will also do a general internet search to see if registered tournament teams have a website with roster. Not always successful, but I like to get there prepared!

As others have suggested, Quick Roster is the way to go. For an example of doing this, you can watch the training video tutorial #3 here:

http://iscorecentral.com/baseball/training.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In addition to being able to go to Misc->Show Starting Lineup to make changes, you can make simple name/number changes right on the sub screen now in iScore (the video was made before this was an option). You still need to go to the starting lineup to readjust batting order however.

I have had pretty good luck finding rosters online. We have 38 scheduled games so far for this upcoming season (season starts in 2 weeks). I have managed to locate rosters for all but 7 teams. Its also easier to enter them this way, because you can use the admin website to copy/paste import.

With the new scheduling feature, I have most of these games already set up in iScore. In most cases, all I should need to do is set the lineups accordingly before the game (and possibly add a player or two that wasnt listed on the website at the time).

For teams I cant find or tournaments where you dont know who you are playing, if I can get a roster before the game, I try to load it in...otherwise, like others have said, quick roster.
