batter pitch stats

Post by dalupus » Mon Mar 21, 2011 9:11 am

I would love to know some general numbers on numbers of pitches batters face.

For example the avg number of pitches faced.
number of strikes swinging, strikes looking, balls etc.
Also avgs and such according to pitch count would be useful. if nothing else to show the guys that their avg is say 100 pts higher in a 2-1 count than a 1-2 count vs on first pitch.

All of these things should be easily available and I am actually surprised it isn't there.

Also I believe you said you were going to add support to show counts of types of pitches and locations and such for the pitchers?
To go along with this I would request some stats on baa based upon pitch and location.

Thanks,
Dal

ps any update on when the league version would be available. I would love to try it out for the second round of the Panamanian Pro league which starts at the end of the month.

A lot of what you are requesting actually falls into the category of analytics. We have third party integration for analytics. One such company can be found here: http://edgehq.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They will take the data generated by iScore, and divide it up any way you like.

We are still working on the League functionality.

I am interested in learning more about Edge. Can this data be accessed in-game without exiting iScore, or only after?

Edge is currently a standalone web application that would require you to view the data outside of iScore. You can contact them through their website at http://edgehq.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for more information.

strictly after, all web based. basic work flow idea is score it in iscore, export, and then analyze on your laptop/desktop with interactive on screen menus / drop down choices. PM me for more info if you want

What other third party options are there for analytics?
Thanks!
