Statistics - different game totals

Post by allrounder » Mon Mar 07, 2011 3:37 am

Only noticed this today - three players in my team have different numbers of games played in the batting and fielding stats...

Shouldn't the number of games be the same?

For two players the number of games is higher by 1 in the fielding and for the other player it is two higher?

Which is the correct total?

Edit: I'm pretty sure my last game was scored before I upgraded to V3.0 then V3.01 (iPhone)

You have stumbled onto a bug that has been identified and being fixed.

Basically, fielding stats number of games is off... As can be pitching total number of games.. A fix is in the works, and a interim solution is described below..

My advice for most new users, if you do not want to mess with the admin tune up, give it about a week and FTM will likely have a new vesion posted By then...

Posted elsewhere on forum.. Longer explanation by FTM..

This allows us to recover games if people delete them by mistake. Unfortunately we have an issue where these games marked as deleted are still being included in stats in some cases.

We have this fixed, and it will be included in the next update, but there are a couple more things we still want to add before submitting to Apple. We have come up with a workaround for now that actually adds a nice little feature.

If you do an Options->Export from your device, then log in to the Admin Website (Options->Admin Website on your device will tell you how), and go to the Tuneup tab, we now show several statistics about your data (size of database, # of teams, # of players, etc). If you use the Optimize option from there, the server will remove the games that have been marked as deleted and also free up all space that iScore no longer needs to keep. This can save quite a bit of space, and it also fixes the statistics issues for the deleted games. After running optimize, do an Options->Import to get the data back to your device.

Hi allrounder - can you do an Options->Export and email us your customer ID after having gone through the Tuneup steps? We would like to take a look at your data. It may not be related at all to the deleted games issue.

If you can tell us a player in particular that has the wrong number of games fielding or games batting, we can take a look. We changed our logic a bit to try and account for leagues where just because a player is batting, it does not necessarily mean they are fielding in the game, and vice versa. So the # of games batting would not necessarily equal the number of games batting --- and that would be correct.

But we would like to see your data to know for sure.

Thank you.

I am finding the same problem, I have different players with different games and it has to do with my "practice games" I did the suggested fix and it works.

I do have an issue that I can't figure out. I have a player with 1 run scored, but he has a 0% OBP. This can't be correct. Is there a way to review or fix this?

A player can have a Run Scored with 0% OBP if they reached on error, reached on a fielder's choice, reached because of a dropped third strike, reached because of a fielder's obstruction, or reached because of catcher's interference.

Very interesting. That's exactly the case because this player was in by error and I have always manually calculated the errors (and others) incorrectly as an in base. Thanks.
