Assist on Error

Post by jackiegripple » Wed Mar 19, 2025 4:00 pm

In softball, if the batter hit the ball and an error is made by the 2nd baseman causing the batter to be safe at 1st. iScore is asking "Touch the player(s) who get an assist, followed by the player who made the error." Is this scored: Error, grounder, error on 2B, and then hit 3-4 since she threw it to 1st after she bumbled the grounder? I would normally score E4, 4-3, but I'm not sure if this is correct. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not really sure what you are asking. No runners on base, correct? If that's the case, there is no assist because there is no out assuming the bobble of the grounder made the throw late. So just score it as an error on 4.
Check out the iScore documentation page!

Thanks! I thought about it all night and came to the same conclusion. Thanks for the quick response though.
