Buttons in color

Post by marcmec » Tue Oct 19, 2010 9:36 pm

I think that some of the more frequently used buttons should be differentiated from others by color, either the background color, or the text color. We recognize color much more quickly than words, so if the 'Ball" button was colored green, and the 'Strike' button was colored red for example, it only requires a quick glance to know which button you need to hit. I know, there are not many buttons to remember, but some of us are memory challenged. :?
Also, some symbols or common abbreviations would help. After hitting 'In Play' for example, I often find myself reading 'Hit Single', 'Hit Double' etc... to find the option that I want, rather than reacting to what just happened on the field. Naming the button 1B, 2B etc, would help to make it more of a reaction, and making them a different color than the others would help also.
And one more example: To designate what happens to a baserunner we are presented with the "What happened to the runner that was on second base, 00 Joe Blow?" message. When trying to input a complicated play with several baserunners, this takes just that little bit of extra time to read rather than something that we can just glance at to know how to answer. Even if you replaced the words 'second base' with 2B, and made the color of 2B slightly different, it would only take a glance to respond.

Thanks, I know it a long post for someone who wants less words...
