Catching stats request

Would like to see some catcher stats available - like Innings caught (IC), stolen bases against the catcher (SB), put outs by the catcher (PO), passed balls (PB) and caught stealing (SB). I see the SB and PO in the fielding stats, but am concerned that may be attributed to general fielding and not to the catcher.

I agree that this would be helpful. The putout statistic appears inflated for catchers compared to other fielders due to strikeouts being credited to catchers. And it would be good to see errors by catcher vs the other fielding positions.

Most of these stats are already there. In the fielding section:

SBA - Stolen Bases Against
PO - Put Outs
PB - Passed Balls
CS - Caught Stealing

We use the rules of MLB to determine Putout Statistics for catchers. We separate Caught Stealing and Put Outs. Yes, catchers get credit for many put outs... that is how things are defined in MLB.

To the question about errors on catcher... Passed Balls are tracked separate from errors and are not considered an error since they have their own statistic.

Since our catchers also do play other positions, (youth baseball) - am really hoping to separate the stats from when they are catchers as opposed to their other positions out in the infield/outfield.

Passed Balls, Caught Stealing, and Stolen Bases Against are catcher-only stats, so there would not be any confusion on those. Put Outs apply to any fielding position, so yes, they would be inflated for the catchers.

We have actually had the request before to have a way to see fielding stats by position, so this would fall into that category as well. We will use this request as another vote to increase the priority of that enhancement.

While thinking of next release ideas and collecting votes.., would put in a vote for next version to really target some of the youth market related suggstions, including
* pre positioning defensive line ups by inning,
* easy report out of innings played by player by poistion


they seem to get a lot of talk value on the board...
