Restricting Access to Different Team Website Pages

Post by SBD » Thu Sep 16, 2010 10:28 am

I password-protected the new team website I've created, and provided the password to all team families. (This team website part of the product is wonderfully easy and functional, I might add!) But I've now had concerns raised about potentially creating undo focus on cumulative individual stats (as opposed to separate game stats). As a consequence, I would like to assign a different password to the "Statistics" tab (which the coaches will have, but not team members). I see that I can apply a password to that part of the website only, but then the rest of the website, including game stats -- and, by extension, the names of our players -- would be non-password-protected and viewable publicly. Is there a way to create separate passwords for the different pages? Many thanks!

We currently only allow pages to be password protected or not password protected. We do not have a way for each to have their own password. We will likely add more flexibility in this regard in the future, but for now, pages are either protected or not, and the guest password determines who can see the password protected pages.

SBD, welcome to the board.
The debate to show or not to show stats has been ongoing. I leave it up to the coach to decide. Some coaches handle the parents better than others. There is great information to use for the individual player that it would be unfortunate to hide but it is understood that some parents will use stats as a weapon against at coach. In some isolated cases I will cut and paste from the website an individuals stats and email to the parent.
