Getting the pitch location out of the way of pitch by pitch

Post by Empire » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:00 pm

I currently do not use the pitch location option. After an inning or two the pitch by pitch data becomes hidden behind the pitch locator and I can't swipe to the bottom to see if I scored the most recent play correctly. Any way to remove the pitch locator OR be able to see the bottom/most current play on the pitch by pitch?

Also, if I wanted to use the pitch locator to record what type of pitch we called on defense so we could track that data, can I do so and, if so, how? I don't want to record where the pitch actually went (other than ball or strike), I just want to know the sequence that was called by our manager and/or catcher.

There is actually an issue where sometimes the play by play overlaps the pitch location area. That is fixed in the next release. If it happens, you can exit out of the applicaton and go back in, and everything should be back to normal.

You can record the pitch types by tapping the pitch types to the right of the pitch location grid. In order to "register" the pitch, you would still need to tap a location. if you really don't care about the location, just tap in the middle for a strike, or around the edges for a ball.

When is the "fix" coming? I was scoring this weekend, and the same thing happened to me. I tried exiting and re-entering as suggested here, but the play-by-play was still blocked by the pitch location chart when I got back in.

did you exit all the way out of iscore? not just exit the game. Every case i have heard of when you totally exit the app and restart it refreshes.

another tip is to lock the screen rotation when scoreing.

My problem is not that the pitch location is blocked by the play-by-play but the other way around. The pitch locator covers the pitch-by-pitch and I can't see my most recently recorded play at the bottom right of the screen. I want to take the pitch location chart off the screen or hide it since I am not currently using it. Any way to do this?

The pitch by pitch listing actually stops before it reaches the pitch location chart. If it is extending beyond that, then exiting from iScore and going back in should fix that issue. This is a known issue that is fixed in the next release, and we have never heard of a case where existing out of the application and going back in did not fix it. If it is not fixing it for you, you may also want to do a full reboot of your device to make sure all memory is cleared. To do that, press and hold the power button until you get the "slide to power off" message. Slide the button that appears to power off your device completely, then turn it back on and go back in to iScore.

also, to answer the secondary question, ..
no, there is not an option to remove the "pitch location section" from the ipad scoring screen.

Thanks for all the info. I'm scoring a game tomorrow night and will report back if I have any issues.
