I cannot find the auto out option. Can you tell me if it is an option, if so where?

I'm not sure of the objective for auto out but here are a few suggestions. There is not an auto out feature, however if you are looking to skip a half inning you can use misc., end inning. Or you could hit out, ground out, next, done, which is I think the quickest auto out without end inning.

In a lot of leagues, teams are allowed to play with less than 9 players and an automatic out would be recorded for the 8 or 9 hole or both. I did use the misc. end inning option, but wasn't sure that was correct or my only option.

my suggestion, in the situation where you are playing down a player and need to take an auto out each time the missing player comes to bat would be to create a player (call him Auto Out if you want) and each time he comes to bat, Use MISC > SKIP Batter, Yes Batter = out. Yes it takes a few taps, but that would make your scorebook and stats look right. also helps /c not every time you take the auto out will it end an inning.

use it all the time, (Misc Skip Batter, Count as an out yes/no) ... works perfectly.
