A) Single Team Line up card.
* Request to enhance existing "email line up card" option.. to include ability to designate and email just for a single team (not both).
- I was training a new user the other day, and they asked how to email a line up card. I showed him and he was surprised to find both teams.
Coach was instinctively expecting to be his team. He wanted to be able to email a draft line up to his assistant coaches, and then be able to print out final copy night before for dugout clipboard and to hand over in pre game to opponent coach and ump. Coach realized he can ignore the opponents side, or rip the page in half - but why?. He said he has seen dugout charts with both teams, but rare, never does he have both line ups in advance to be able to print and really use. But For every one of his games, it starts with a single team line up card that is exchanged with ump and opposing coach pre game.
He was hoping developers would consider an option to choose to email just a one team version.(he could for his own team hand over, as coaches and umps seem to appreciate typed versions over his handwriting he said. )
After some discussion and giving it some thought, I thought he had a strong point and i told him i would post a suggestion to user forum. See what others thought.
coach added, he has seen two common formats, one with extra players on bottom but most common and most useful are the ones with Players on left (#,name, position) and available Subs on right (#,name, position). Best ones have off setting 'ledger row shading' and two rows per batting slot (though sometimes more would be nice for HS) . the top of page varies, and is usually just some basic game info ( team and coach name, date, location , opponent name etc). bottom often blank or room for notes ,but said Umpires tend to like the ones that on bottom have check boxes for Warnings, Ejections and Conferences (offensive and defensive) for the umpire use.
Coach liked that iscore noted Left and right handed subs and pitcher, but wondered why not starters, and thought you could just parenthetical to a player name or add a column instead of position. but thought would be nice but not critical to have handiness (R/L/S).
- some what related, we thought we could email roster as a proxy, and was surprised to discover that did not exist. so secondary, smaller suggestion would be to consider adding Email Roster feature. team manager > Team > Roster > Email
