FWIW, I like the current method of tapping and details. I don't seem to have the touch for swipes and things happen that I don't want to happen, so if that were to happen during a baseball game I would become very frustrated. The current format is simple, just that way I prefer.

Re: UI Idea
Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas and opinions. Based on all the feedback for this topic we believe we have come up with a compromise that will satisfy everyone. We will add a Common Plays screen. The screen can be reached by touch and swipe on the Out button the way you touch and swipe on the Strike button now for swiniging strike. In the Common Plays screen will be buttons for things like 6-3 Ground Out, 5-3 Ground Out, 6-4-3 Double Play etc. Select one of the buttons and it will ask where the ball was hit, strength and type the way it does now. If the selected play handles all the runners then you are done. Otherwise it will ask about the remaining runners the way it does now. Hopefully this will satisfy both those who want simplification and those who like the current input method.
Thanks again to everyone who contributed to this topic.
