ERA / ERG when IP is zero

Top of the fourth inning we put in a new pitcher. The first batter gets a single. Second batter comes up and we get a 2/1 count then a rain delay. An hour later we're back on the field but our pitcher has cooled down so another kid goes in. iScore shows a IP = 0 and ERA = 27 for the kid who came out. For sake of the math do we assume a minimum IP of 1/3?

Yes... in the case of 0 official innings pitched, we give the player 1/3 of an inning pitched in the math. When they really do get their first out, it will still be 1/3 of an inning. If we don't give them anything, then you are dividing by 0 which would cause an error.

Why not just show "n/c" or "n/a" or something like that? Would be technically more accurate. Not a big deal to me either way though.

Or infinity which would be *really* bad for the stats
