DP / Flex is an option where you have a dedicated fielding player and a dedicated batting player that share a role (kind of like DH). It is mostly used in Softball (High School and Travel Ball).

so i need to use the dp/flex for example i have a dh for the pitcher. mark the pitcher as "dp" and the dh as "flex"

does this make sense?

In the case of a DH, just set the pitcher to Batting = NO, and the position of the DH to DH.

If you have not heard of DP/Flex, then chances are that your league does not use it, and you would just use Batting = YES or Batting = NO, and that is it.

echo FTM point, DP/Flex is a very specific term, used mainly in NFHS rule fast pitch softball. It is NOT the same as DH in major league baseball.
