2 Pitching Speeds

Why are there two speeds listed when checking the pitch speed. There is a speed in mph and then below it in paranthesis there is another speed listed in mph.

The one below is the MLB equivalent speed... i.e. what an MLB Pitcher would have to throw to give the batter the same amount of time to react to the pitch.
You will find top fastpitch softball pitchers are throwing faster than MLB pitchers on a relative basis (i.e. a softball batter has less time to react to the pitch than an MLB player does).

As a side note, I'd just like to say that this is a really cool feature. It's not a perfect method, just due to the fact that my fingers aren't as precise as they should be. However, it does a good job of getting in the ballpark of the pitch speed. My girl has been consistently clocked with a speed gun (under controlled conditions at an indoor facility) at 55 mph for a fastball and I'm simultaneously getting anywhere from 52 to 56 mph on iScore.
It's a little trickier under game conditions. For some reason (the heat on my iPod or my fingers getting dryer, maybe?) I'm only getting about 50% results. When I put my finger back down - signifying the end of the pitch - my iPod isn't always recognizing it. Otherwise, great new feature that is very much appreciated!
