The addition of the timer is huge for me as all of our games are timed. No more bncing back and forth between iScore and the built-in timer app.

Only the iPhone / iPod Touch version has been approved so far. They were both submitted the same day, so we are hoping for approval any time on the iPad version as well.

Usually they take about the same amount of time for the approval process, so we are hopeful that Apple will approve today, but we have no way of knowing for sure.

Are there any steps required, before updating with the new version, to preserve the existing data on the IPad (other than normal exporting to the server)?

Exporting is always a good idea after any game, but updating to the newest version will preserve existing data just fine.
