VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
Re: VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
Good to read some signs of life at the other end. For a little while I thought iScore was lost in hyperspace.
Like you, I am hoping to see it released anyday. (Boy, I am anxious to play with such a wonderful product).

Re: VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
What specifically will be the steps required to download the application for existing users without being charged? Is this download going to come from your website, or from the app store?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
It is usually done this way: when you go to iTunes and check for upgrades for your applications, iScore would appear, allowing you to download for free from the App Store.

I have added a small ritualistic prayer these days before I check the app store. Unfortunately it does not seem to be helping.jdonato wrote:It is usually done this way: when you go to iTunes and check for upgrades for your applications, iScore would appear, allowing you to download for free from the App Store.

Seriously now, maybe if we all do like OhioTex....

I'm starting to hate Apple....
I have downloaded plenty of other applications with obvious bugs. They can't catch those lame applications before they approve it but take over a month to evaluate this fine application.
Is there any way we, users can help rally against this non sense of Apple?

Interesting updates on the Apple site at:
https://developer.apple.com/iphone/news/.
On the right hand side, says "Based on current app submissions, 96% of applications are being approved within 14 days. Last Updated: July 31, 2009"
We are just about a month in with iScore... guess we are in the 4% of applications this time around. Every other submission we have had fit in the 96%.
Also says if you have questions, they can be sent to appreview@apple.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false. If anyone sends messages, please be nice... we don't want to be on Apple's bad side. I'm sure they are doing the best they can.

Re: VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
Folks,
I've just sent the following email to Apple. Perhaps if we mount a letter-writing campaign (a nice one), we can get this unblocked.
Dear Apple Gods,
I am writing on behalf of a terrific iPhone application, iScore Baseball, from Faster Than Monkeys. I have no affiliation with FTM, other than as a very happy customer, and I believe iScore to be the poster child app of all that is wonderful about the iPhone App ecosystem.
I’ve been an iScore user for about two months, and in that time, my son’s baseball team – and the whole local little league community – have been very impressed by the quality of information that may be kept. I’ve shown the app to about 50 different people, all of whom react by saying, “wow! I didn’t know you could do that with an iPhone.” In short, the iScore app is a great ambassador for the iPhone.
Here’s where I could use your help: the FTM folks recently completed an upgrade to the iScore app. It corrects some bugs, and adds many terrific new features. They submitted it to the AppStore on July 15th. In keeping with their tradition of complete transparency and outstanding customer service, they have kept all current subscribers informed of the progress the upgrade is making in App Review.
Unfortunately, the review process has taken a painfully long time. The FTM people have been very gracious toward Apple, and have been quick to note that their prior submissions were approved in short order. They remain staunch supporters of Apple and the App Store. However, we iScore consumers are getting pretty restless.
Baseball season is now almost over, and all of us iScore users are waiting for the new features to arrive while we can still use them. In my community, this weekend marks the start of the final tournament week. This is the time when a company like Faster Than Monkeys should be allowed to shine – and the iPhone should be prominently featured in a quintessential American activity. If the product upgrade is not approved within the next 24 hours, it’s tantamount to putting it on the shelf for nine more months. Please don’t let that happen.
Please take a moment to look into FTM’s application, and approve it on behalf of iScore’s (and Apple’s) loyal customers. We are a tiny group by Apple standards. Your decision will have little impact on the world, but will make thousands of little league and softball players across the country very happy.
Thanks very much for your consideration,

If FTM is OK with that letter, I will send it too. What e-mail address did you send it to?

Re: VERSION 2.0 SUBMITTED TO APPLE TODAY!
In deference to FTM's relationship with Apple, I refrained from sending the letter I really wanted to send. The one that threatened a class action lawsuit on behalf of iPhone consumers, accusations of anti-competitive practices and restraint of trade, and a warning that my next letters would be sent to my state's attorney general and my congressmen.
Let's see if we can catch more flies with honey. Not holding my breath, but keeping my fingers crossed.
