Just updated to 2.6. Like the Release Notes addition, Also, question, does the data sharing not work on the original iPhone running OS 3.1.3?

The data sharing through the web should work with any version of the iPhone. For the Bluetooth data sharing, there are a few restrictions.

1. From Apple: "Bluetooth networking is not supported on the original iPhone or the first-generation iPod Touch"

2. You can not transfer between the iPhone and iPad versions of the application over bluetooth. They have a different application ID, and Apple's built in protocol only talks to applications with the same application ID.

In both of these cases, you should still be able to use the sharing by connecting to an exported copy of the other device's database.

I tried using the new updated apps to transfer over Bluetooth, but it didn't work. I tried the Web Database method, but it says I need a password. Then I found on the forum that Bluetooth transfer is impossible because of the strange decision to make this one app list as two separate apps in the app store, instead of making it a universal binary. Making this a universal binary would have been supremely useful to users, but it was not done. I tried making an account on the forums to ask for help on how to use the Web Database method, but after signing up for an account, I never received the confirmation email. (I tried creating the account again, but it gave me errors, saying that both the email address and username have already been taken, which they have been, by me. But I can't use them because I cannot confirm, because I never received any email. I know you're going to ask if I checked my spam folder. Yes, I checked. It's not there.) I re-read the release notes in the app, but found no help on how to use the Web Database method. I eventually found the my.iscorecentral site, which I had looked at once before just to see what it did. I don't remember what my password was. I just remember it was some weird password that I did not choose. I tried following the instructions for new users, to see if I could change my password that way, but it didn't work. I tried changing my password through the website, but I need my old password to change the password. So now I'm stuck with no Bluetooth transfer, no Web Database transfer, no access to the forums or website, and I've paid for the same app twice just because of a strange decision to not make a universal binary.

Oh, I finally got the confirmation email. It took an hour. That's an annoying "feature." I was going to send this as an email, but will now post it on the forum, as originally written.

Sorry for your frustration muero.

There is a much simpler way to create your login for the http://my.iscorecentral.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; website (which also becomes your data sharing login). Just go to Options -> Admin Website on your device. It will show your current password if it has been set, and allow you to update it to anything you want from there. It also tells how to log in to the Admin Website. This same ID / password is used for web based data sharing.

The decision on Universal Binary vs separate application was explained in the very first post on this thread.

We will continue working on ways to improve data sharing in addition to the methods we have provided with this release.

Please feel free to email us any time directly at support@fasterthanmonkeys.com --- we generally respond to emails very fast.

fyi... on the "News" page within iScore (click the red badge or Version # on the title screen while connected to the internet), there is now a link to Data Sharing FAQ available right from the device that describes how to use data sharing.

These are same great updates. Thanks! I already have another parent who downloaded iScore and wants to help me out. The data sharing feature is exactly what we need.

can the new multi-user feature beam data during a game (i.e. to the coaches ipod). If not, it would be nice to have a parent track the stats and at bats and beam them to the coach so he knows pitch count (% balls strikes totals). Also, there is a little pitch speed timing app (uses time to plate to calculate pitch speed) that would be easy for you guys to have something like that right on your pitch tracking screen. I know you have a little dial for speed, but most of us don't have radar guns. I have the other app, but i have to log out of the game to use it.

We do not currently have a way to "beam live" during a game, but we have been considering making a "coaches interface" for just this purpose. It would show just the key things a coach would find useful during the game. We have also thought about adding the "stop watch speed method" to iScore as you are right... it is very easy. Thank you.
