Any Timeframe for iPhone / iPad Version 3.x?

Post by CoachCarl » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:56 am

Searched first, but did not see any reference to a timeframe for the release of v3.X for the iPhone/iPad.

Is there any estimate for when this will be released yet?

FTM has yet to ever pre announce a specific date for any new feature release. In the past they only announce once they send to apple. And then we all wait impatiently for it to be approved. That said, they have said...soon.... Which we all hope means in time for spring 2011 ball...

I am anxious too...

One of the features they said will be included is pre positioning of fielders for each inning ....which should be very nice for youth ball with lots open substitutions. Also the qbility to pre schedule games. I know they said other features and tweaks, but those are the ones I think will be the headline new additions

Thanks for the reply - that is more or less what I thought, but it does not hurt to ask.

I'm in the same boat - patiently waiting for the pre-schedule and pre-positioning (though I do the latter in a special spread sheet now) as well as the promise of a landscape version for the iPad for when I score games I'm not coaching.

The league support is also interesting though our league is not ready for that just yet.

I forgot to mention, but FTM has said somewhere that landscape for iPad most likely in the next release too..

I too pre position players on a spreadsheet before game.. And when coaching, I enter the starting line up and just edit the substitutions in iscore after the game in pitch by pitch editor from memory and my pre planned spreadsheet, vs real time fielder subs every inning while in the dug out, so i can focus on coaching vs iscore updates. Will probably still do a pre game spreadsheet , and then type into iscore, before game at home, thus saving me on field time and editing after a game. will be a big time saver on the diamond I think...

To be clear, as i understand it, ftm has said, The "league director" version will be a separate product, and require separate purchase and $.not a free update to current app or team web site subscription. FTM mentioned the price somewhere in the forum, I forget where and how much, (<20$? I think). I recall thinking, more than fare, very reasonable price a great value.. This will not be for every iscore user, just those that run a league or tournament organization

I was under the same impression for the league support - a separate product or add on like the MLB add on.

Spread sheets - No doubt I'll need to continue to use it since it also produces my in-and-out listing for each inning as well as my double check to ensure all positions are covered and we cover the league minimum for mandatory play time (though that is generally not an issue for my teams).

I use a magnet board (the coacher - great product) to let the players know where they are positioned for the next inning as well as maintain the batting order so I'm hoping I have time to adjust the defensive positions during the change over.

Really looking forward to scoring with iScore this season since I eliminate my bulky score book and pitch counter, and only need to keep my stop watch around my neck now!

CoachCarl - not sure if you used the inning recap last season, but it was great for monitoring pitch counts..
